Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. Her birthplace was in Stavanger on June 15, 1996 and professionally known as Aurora. Her name can be also stylized as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was recorded for an advertisement for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is an Nat King Cole cover. The singer gained further attention through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding a grand piano in the attic. She was fascinated by the possibilities it offered. Parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for a profession or a pastime, but as a way to develop. They inspired her to write. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. Her mother had told her the songs she composed could be used to not gain fame for her however, but to encourage people to see their own value and impact on our world at large, she started singing them in public. She began playing the piano when she was six years old and started making music when she was 9 years old. Her family didn't hear about her musical journey until she was 14. Aurora has never imagined being famous. Aurora is simply a writer who loves writing songs. For her music, is the best means of communicating anything.
