Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15th 1960) was an American actress. In the TV and film business, she is famous for her numerous nominations and awards. Bassett was born in New York New York and raised by an aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett along with her mother and sister were moved into St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was 5 years old. The father of the family had divorced their mother. Bassett was in high school and, saw John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she made the decision to pursue acting. She was a student at Yale University New Haven Connecticut and graduated with a bachelor's degree (1980) on African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. They were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a Master's Degree of African American studies, in 1980.
